As an approved vendor, we are mandated to follow the rules and regulations set forth by the California Department of Corrections.

Weight Limit: Inmates are permitted one additional package a year with a maximum weight limit of 30 pounds or 480 ounces, which includes packaging material. 
 
Quantity: Inmates are allowed one additional package a year as follows:
 
Privilege Group A/B:
Inmates may receive one (1) package per quarter  
 
Privilege Group D:
Inmates may receive one (1) package per year  
  
Privilege Group C:
NO packages permitted (0 per year)  
  
Privilege Group U:
NO packages permitted (0 per year)
 
 
Dollar Value Limit: There is currently no dollar value limit
 
Products: The products on this website are items which have been approved by the State of California Department of Corrections.  The shopping pages are organized into categories (food, clothing, electronics etc.) and subcategories.  You can choose an item by searching the categories OR you can type in the item number and you will be taken to the item of your choice.  If an item does not appear, it is either restricted for your particular privilege group, restricted by your particular facility or no longer available.  If you are uncertain about the eligibility of an item, please email customer service at CAcustomerservice@unionsupplydirect.com or call customer service at (562)361-5711.
 
Promotional Items: Promotional (Promo) items are only available while the program or supplies last(s). The program many be discontinued without further or prior notice. If a selected Promo item is out-of-stock or discontinued, the company will substitute the selected Promo item with another item of comparable value, or cancel the Promo item if no comparable substitute is available. Promo items are only available at facilities where incarcerated adults are allowed to receive promotional items.
    
Dress Out / Parole Package Program: Union Supply offers Apparel and Accessories for paroling inmates in the back of the California Quarterly Catalog. Orders must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the release date. Orders are shipped to the facility 2 weeks before the release date.

If a package is returned to us for any reason, we will contact the purchaser to determine a resolution.  Used, abused or damaged items cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded.  All items are only covered by the manufacturer’s warranties.  Inmates must check all their items upon receipt.   If any of these items are found to be defective or damaged in shipping, they must be reported to the R&R staff and return within 30 days.  All original boxes and packing materials are required on any returned goods.  These goods will be repaired or replaced at no cost to you.  Returned items that are older than 30 days will not be processed.  All merchandise that was ordered in error for any reason can be exchanged for $8.95.  All exchanges must be done within 30 days of purchase.  Merchandise must be unused and in original packaging.  Any returned merchandise that is used or not in original packaging will be returned to you.  Shipping charges are nonrefundable.  
 
Please be aware of our Restocking Fee effective 7/1/2022. If your package is refused by the inmate or it is refused by the facility because the inmate has already received the maximum number of packages allowed for the quarter or year, whichever applies, a restocking fee of 50% of the total order amount, up to a maximum of $35.00 per order, will be deducted from your refund. Shipping fees are non-refundable for refused packages.
 
NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED from 3RD party customer. Only returns coming from the facility in which the package was originally delivered will be processed. 
 
Art, Lyrics/Poem, & Recipe Contest: The art, lyrics/poem, and recipe contests are open to any inmate aged 18 years older, housed in a CDCR institution, who has at least one Union Supply package shipped to him or her at any time between January 1, 2022 - April 1, 2023.  NO 3rd party submission will be accepted.  Submissions for the contest will be accepted between January 1, 2023 - April 1, 2023.  At the end of the contest period there will be three grand prize winners, one in the art work category, one in lyrics/poem category and one in the recipe category. There will also be five runners up in each category.

Clear Tunes Television Warranty Service Procedures:
Union Supply Direct offers 180 day limited warranty service on all Clear Tunes televisions.  SEE THE LIMITED WARRANTY ENCLOSED WITH YOUR PRODUCT FOR THE FULL TERMS OF YOUR WARRANTY.  To return a defective Clear Tunes television within the 180 day warranty period, please send your TV to 9565 N. Virginia Street #100, Reno, NV 89506.  The return package must include: (1) the defective television; (2) a copy of the original receipt, (3) all of the accessories that came with the product, and (4) your full name, inmate number, facility name and physical address (no PO Boxes are accepted). 
 
Out of Warranty Service (where applicable, 181–365 days from original date of purchase):  To return a defective Clear Tunes television within the out of warranty period, send the unit to Clear Inventions, Inc., 2320 E. 49th Street, Vernon, CA 90058.  The return package must include (1), (2), (3) and (4) above and a check payable to Union Supply Group, Inc., in the amount of $50.00 for return shipping.
 
If returned merchandise is found by Union Supply Direct or Clear Tunes, in their sole discretion, to not be defective or you do not meet all applicable requirements above, then your returned product will not be processed and the product may be returned to you.  There is no repair or replacement service available after 365 days from the date of original purchase.  SEE THE LIMITED WARRANTY ENCLOSED IN YOUR PRODUCT PACKAGING FOR THE FULL TERMS OF THE WARRANTY APPLICABLE TO YOUR CLEAR TUNES TELEVISION. 
 
RCA Television Warranty Service Procedures
There is a 180 day warranty service on all RCA televisions.  SEE THE LIMITED WARRANTY ENCLOSED WITH YOUR TELEVISION FOR THE FULL TERMS OF YOUR WARRANTY.  To return a defective RCA television within the 180 day warranty period, please send your TV to 9565 N. Virginia Street #100, Reno, NV 89506.  The return package must include: (1) the defective television; (2) a copy of the original receipt, (3) all of the accessories that came with the product, and (4) your full name, inmate number, facility name and physical address (no PO Boxes are accepted). 
 
Out of Warranty Service (181–365 days from original date of purchase):   Please see the Limited Warranty enclosed with your product for the return requirements and procedures from 181 to 365 days from the date of original purchase.
 
If returned merchandise is found by Union Supply Direct or RCA, in their sole discretion, to not be defective or you do not meet all applicable requirements above, then your returned product will not be processed and the product may be returned to you.  There is no repair or replacement service available after 365 days from the date of original purchase.  SEE THE LIMITED WARRANTY ENCLOSED IN YOUR PRODUCT PACKAGING FOR THE FULL TERMS OF THE WARRANTY APPLICABLE TO YOUR CLEAR TUNES TELEVISION. 
 
Payment Methods: Orders will be accepted when accompanied by cashier’s check, money order, or credit card (MasterCard, Visa or Discovery).  We accept Credit/Debit cards and prepaid cards with Visa/MasterCard logos.  There will be a hold on your credit card/debit card for the amount of the order at the time the order is placed.  The hold on your card will be removed and your card will be charged at the time the package ships.  For prepaid card payments, funds are deducted from your card and placed on hold at the time the order is placed.  A positive balance must be kept in the account until the package ships at which time your card will be charged.

Layaway Program: The Layaway Program is for friends and family only. Family and friends (“you”) can place an order with us today to activate your layaway plan. Our layaway plan provides a monthly statement that is sent to you the first of each month throughout the duration of your layaway plan. This is a free service at no additional cost to you.
 
LAYAWAY PAYMENTS CAN BE MADE IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

PAYMENT PLAN: Each layaway installment, except for the final installment of any remaining balance due, must be at least $25.00, and you may make a maximum of three (3) payments per plan. Final payment is due at least 30 days prior to the end of the quarter for which the order is placed (i.e. Last day in February, May, August and November). Your order will be shipped when payment is made in full.
 
REFUNDS AND CANCELATIONS: If your order is not paid in full at least 30 days prior to the end of the quarter for which your order is placed, your order will be cancelled and you will be refunded all the money you have paid less a cancellation charge of $8.95. You may also cancel your order at any time prior to making your final payment for a full refund of all money paid. If, for any reason, the item becomes no longer available before the end of the layaway period, you will receive a full refund of all money paid.

Setting Up a Prepaid Account
The inmate’s prepaid account can be set up by an inmate or friends and family.  However, the inmate shall be the sole account holder.  Inmates can use their prepaid account to purchase Quarterly Packages, Special Purchase Orders, and Dress Out. 
 
Special Purchase
For Special Order items, inmates can use their prepaid account anytime to order all your entertainment appliances such as televisions, cassette players, CD players, radios, typewriters and musical instruments.     
 
Funding a Prepaid Account
Friends and family can fund an inmate’s prepaid account by cashier’s check or money order for free or by Visa, MasterCard or Discover Card for a service fee. Funds will be available in the prepaid account 72 hours after the transaction is completed. Inmates can fund their own prepaid account for free by mailing in a facility trust check (no refunds on payments made with a trust check). If an inmate funds their own prepaid account, there will be a 10% Inmate Welfare Fund fee applied by the Institution's Trust Office. There is a $25 minimum and $250 maximum per transaction.  Prepaid deposits must be made in $5 increments.  Funding transactions are nonrefundable except as specified below under “Refunds of Prepaid Account Balance.”

Ordering From Your Prepaid Account
Only inmates may order using their prepaid account funds, no friends and family.  To order, the inmate will simply complete a Union Supply Direct order form and check off the ‘Prepaid Account’ option under the payment method section.  The inmate will then mail the order form to Union Supply Direct and we will process your order.  The order must be mailed in a facility envelope.  For quarterly packages, please mail your order form to Union Supply Direct two (2) weeks prior to the last day of the quarter, or, order media at any time. 
 
Returns
The inmate’s prepaid account will be credited with the purchase price of any items returned to Union Supply that were purchased from the prepaid account.  Should any package be refused by the facility, the inmate’s prepaid account will be refunded.  Shipping fees are not refundable.  
 
Refunds of Prepaid Account Balance
Refunds of any unused funds require a written request from the account holder (inmate) and will only be issued to the account holder after being released from the prison system.  Please wait two (2) weeks after release to send us your written request for a refund of any unused funds with a First Class stamp, and self-addressed envelope including your name and Inmate ID Number.  We will then mail you a refund check for the account balance.  Please mail your written request to:

Monthly Prepaid Account Maintenance
If your prepaid account has been inactive for six (6) or more months, your prepaid account will be charged a $2.95 monthly inactivity fee until all funds are depleted.  To avoid this fee, be sure to order your quarterly package or your media order at any time.
